Sandefjord is not located far up in the Oslo Fjord. However, the guy who came up with the whaling idea must have been very innovative.

And maybe that's what characterizes people from around here; flair for business. If you need to go out into the world to reach your goals, well, go out into the world! If not, create something where you are! Here you will find local chocolate, local beer and even local breeding of red deer. Sandefjord also has an international side. In 2017, Art for All in the World added color to the city and today you can stroll around and admire street art, which is often associated with larger and more cosmopolitan cities.

From the inside. Step into a different world. Afternoon tea in Anders Jahre's stately home, Midtåsen, can make one wonder if one has chosen the right path in life…
Lavish funeral. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be buried with an entire ship, but some obviously had the right contacts. The result can be found at Gokstadhaugen.
Street art. Art, often associated with cities of a different size, can actually be found in Sandefjord. In 2017, Art for All in the World added color to the city. Seven international artists were invited to paint frescoes under the thematic umbrella "Inclusiveness, Tolerance and Diversity".

Hjortegården

In between Sandefjord and Tønsberg you can experience something quite unique; the breeding of red deer. The farm has been in the family since the 18th century. Animal welfare is very important and the animals roam freely within a very large area. The calves are also born in their natural habitat in the spring. From the beautiful garden, you can admire the grazing animals in the distance.
More than whaling...

Thinking that the Whaling museum is for special interest only? Think again. You will be positively surprised. The museum is packed with exciting local history, rare photographs and a program that includes lectures on, among other things, football in Antarctica. A visit to the Whaling Museum is a must!
Back to nature

Sometimes it is nice to ditch the world, turn off the cell phone and retreat to a place without cars. Veierland is part of Nøtterøy with ferry connection to Engø. There are no cars on the island, apart from the occasional tractor. Slow down. Take a deep breath and allow the batteries to re-charge.
Local brew by Fjordfolk

If you are from Sandefjord, you’re supposed to have a flair for business. One could also be adding; A flair for good beer. According to the guys at "Fjordfolk": Beer is fun and deserves a lot of attention! This small, local brewery has developed an exciting range of varieties, many of which have won international prizes. Thirsty? We will organize a company visit.
